As Sun moves to Virgo for altering and emending – with the travel of Moon from Aries to Virgo, marks the period of Pitra Paksh.
The cause for the occurrence of birth on this earth is due to the union of Serpent – The Rahu and Ketu – representing the Parental and Maternal side of the Pitra / Ancestors.
Our soul has taken multiple births and our Pitra are not just restricted to blood but souls from many lifetimes with whom our karam is still pending with desires of fulfillment.
The Moon on Anant Chaturdashi ends the rituals of Ganapati with Visarjan and on Poornima it brings in the energy of Pitra from the waters of Pisces.
To continue our Soul progress without any hindrance it is necessary to perform the rituals of Pitra Paksh and release the tangles of Shad Ripus – As one’s Soul is threaded with several pending karma from past to this life.
The Remedies include the medium of water and fire – The ritual of Fire includes performing the Til Havan by the recitation of Gayatri and the ritual of water by offering Tarpan.
1. Offering food to Brahmins the entire 15 days – as they are the medium to Pitra – Kheer / Sweets made out of Khas Khas.
2. Offer Clothes in Temple for Deity and Panditji.
3. Taking dip in river / sea and offering Tarpan.
4. Offer Green Fodder to Cows half of your body weight.
5. Look for the placement of Virgo – Pisces axis in the chart for pending karma and donate the significance of the planet placed.
6. Plant the Trees of nakshtra in which the Planets are placed in Mrityu Bhag in the chart.
7. Lighting of Til oil diya every night outside your house/balcony and under the Peepal tree.
8. Clearing of South West direction in the house and lighting incense sticks/dhoop and Til oil diya.
9. Offering Sweet Water mixed with milk, honey, jaggery to Banyan tree.
10. Planting trees of nakshtra in which Rahu and Ketu are placed.

Namaste Sir, In Panchang you mentioned to buy 15 diys for 15 days. Does it mean that we can’t use the same diya or do we have to lit 15 days everyday for the next 15 days?

DG sir meant.. 15 days for next 15 days.. Single diya on each day. U don’t have to lit 15 diya for each day. 1 each day = 15 days.. As simple as that. And please avoid to reuse the diyas. Each day fresh diya.

Hi, it’s said to never lit a used Diya for holy rituals. Even in house if you have to use then use a new one or use a metal Diya and wash it properly after every use before lighting. I guess 15diyas are for 15 days individually.

Hi Kanikaji, even I had the same question! But imitating Deepanshuji’s thought process of decoding things why it’s said, I came to conclusion to light 15 diyas daily.
Reason being, Deepanshuji knows how resourceful an Indian is and why spend money on 15 diyas to light up only 1 diya/day? Hence, using this logic he means to say to light 15 diyas for 15 days.

On the first day of pitrapaksha, I saw snakes in my dream I remember very specific design over their bodies and I was scared in my dreams and I can also recall the pair of snakes died by a gun shot.. I want to ask questions regarding two points you mention to follow 1st one, point no 5 ‘looking for Virgo – Pisces axis in chart’, if no planet is placed then what to do . mine is 3-9 with no planet. and 2nd ,point no 6’Plant the Trees of nakshtra in which the Planets are placed in Mrityu Bhag in the chart’. – do u meanplant the tree if any plant is in 8th house ?
