The 10th house is usually known as the house of Profession – however it is basically the Karam that is done by a native and it may or may not be linked with the profession. Often people complain about their profession not being stable but totally ignore the other significations of Saturn which they have not taken care of.

Sarvartha Chintamani says that – If the 10th house has benefics in Rashi and Navansh with influence of Jupiter/Venus the native gets honoured in life.

The meaning is totally different that what is actually meant – Benefics in the 10th house such as Jupiter or Venus means that one will do the Karam of Teaching, being father and taking care of family and major physical exertion is not needed. Which is why Benefics in the 10th house do work where one’s Mind is needed more than physical movement – which would require a person to be very knowledgeable via education or any other means. That is the reason as to why such people get respect – because of their knowledge and skills.
Similarly Malefics will make you work Physically more and both Benefics and Malefics will give a balance between them.
