Darsha Amavasya-

Darsha Amavshya also known as Sarva Pitru Amavashya is one of the special nights to get ancestral blessings in the form of luck, fortune, and prosperity. This is the day if one can worship and pray to forefathers properly and please them, one can solve many chronic problems of life.

In Vedic astrology, this Amavashya is mainly the day to make an inner connection with proper rituals and sacred offerings to the departed souls of the lineage. Also, for some families where there are souls that has not got mukti yet, this is the day to do the Pitru shanti puja to help them get liberation. On many occasions, this Amavasya is also used for karma cleansing.

The upcoming Darsha Amavasya will start on the evening of 24th June at 18:59 and will end on 25th June at 16:00 PM. This is the day you can perform rituals and remedies to bring blessings and remove any negative impacts of Pitru Dosha. The deity associated with this day is the Moon God. People with a weak Moon in the natal chart can also do rituals on this day to get good results.

How to do the Vrat on this day:-

One needs to fast on this day from Sunrise to Sun Set (25th to be done in June 25), fasting should be continued untill the Shukla Pratipada Moon is visible. Taking two times bath one in the morning and another in the evening. After Sun set one can take water and other homemade veg food, avoid rice in this day.

People with health concerns can take water and fruits during the day.

Other Rituals to Perform:-

1. Offer Prayers to Shivji- do Rudra Abhisekh and offer Dhatura /Aak ki flower to Shivji.
2. One can establish Chandra Yantra at home.
3. Light a Ghee Diya in the southwest direction and chant Pitru Gayatri Mantra.
4. Make kheer at home and offer it to the temple along with sesame seeds.
5. Feeding crows and cows are also helpful.
6. You can do Pitru Shanti Puja also in this day.
7. Take bath mixing Ganga jal with normal water. If you are living near a holy water body take dip there.
