22nd Drekkana Lord and Its Play During Saturn Transit Randhra Bhava

In Astrology, sometimes a few events happen suddenly in such a way that they change the life path, even they cannot be detected in the main dashas. In those cases, sometimes major transits play a prominent role in bringing something into life and changing the course of life.

In Astrology, 22nd Drekkana, which is referred as Niryaana Drekkana, is a major important concept that we are obviously aware of. In Vedic astrology, Drekkana refers to the division of each zodiac sign into three parts, each of 10 degrees. There is a total of 36 Drekkanas across the 12 signs. In terms of calculation, obviously the actual method is there in books that anybody can read. I am not here to show the same as it’s already there in the book.

In a different way and in a very quick and smart way, if you want to calculate in mind quickly, there are 2 ways to calculate this point – one is just to see the degree of the ascendant if it is between 0-10, then the 8th house sign and lord of D1 becomes the 22nd Drekkana lord. If the ascendant rising degree is 10-20, then the 12th house sign and lord will be the 22nd Drekkana sign and lord, and if the ascendant degree is 20-30, then the 4th house sign and its lord of D1 chart becomes the 22nd Drekkana and its lord.

For example, if the Ascendant is Gemini 25 degrees, then the 22nd drekkana sign and lord will be the 4th house sign and lord, that is Virgo and Mercury.

On the other hand, just check the D3 chart’s 8th house sign and lord from any software.

Now coming to the actual point in today’s topic-

22nd Drekkana is a point of grief and stress in astrology, so the planet of Saturn is. So when these two meet, it creates a severely stressful atmosphere. It’s like the multiplication of a pressured situation.

So the dictum is, when in transit, the Saturn transit over the 8th house(Randhra Bhav) from Ascendant across the degree span related to 22nd Drekkana and at that time the 22nd drekkana lord connects the lagna or the lagna lord in transit, it creates grief, stress and physical suffering to the native.

Let’s see the chart of Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh)-

In his chart, the ascendant is rising with Taurus- 21st degree, a few minutes, so as per his rising degree, his 22nd Drekkana degree span will be 20-30th of the 8th house, and the 22nd Drekkana will be the 4th house sign and its lord. So in his case, the Leo becomes the 22nd Drekkana, and the 22nd Drekkana lord will be the Sun.

During January 1990, the Saturn was transiting through the Sagittarius sign through the degrees span of 20-30. From Osho’s chart, it was coming in the same degree span, and during that month after Sankranti, the Sun went to the sign of Capricorn. And guess which planets were there already, the planets were there, Venus and Rahu. So as soon as the 22nd Drekkana lord of his chart Sun touched the transit degree of his Lagna lord Venus near the middle of January, while Saturn was transiting on that degree span in the 8th house, unfortunately, Bhagwan Osho left us forever. It was 19 January 1990 when he died. On that day, his 22nd Drekanna lord was within 1degree of his Lagna lord, and Saturn was there in the middle span of 20-30 degrees of Sagittarius.

Let’s See Another case study:-

Here is a chart of a native born on 19th January 1982. ( actually, while in the s  ession, seeing the date of birth, suddenly the event of Osho’s life occurred in my mind because we are all somehow connected to him, as there is a saying- “Osho never born, never died, only visited this planet.”– nevertheless, coming back to the topic)

So, the person ascendant is rising with 7degree and a few minutes of Leo. So, as per his rising degree, his 22nd Drekkana degree span will be 1-10 degrees of the 8th, and the 22nd Drekkana will be the 8th house sign and its lord. So in his case, the Pisces becomes the 22nd Drekkana, and the 22nd Drekkana lord will be Jupiter.

In the current time, the native has his transit Saturn on the 8th house on the degree span of 1-10 of Pisces and the 22nd Drekkana lord Jupiter is transiting over the Gemini in the 11th house. During the last week of June, suddenly, the native started having problems in the abdominal region, and it became so severe that he was hospitalised. After treatment, the doctor diagnosed some problems in the GI tract for which native had to go with proper treatment till the end of July, also he got restrictions on many foods. During this time, the lagna lord of the native’s chart, the Sun was transiting in the Sign of Gemini, where the 22nd drekana lord Jupiter was already there. As well as the 8th Saturn transiting on the same degree span, it made the native to go through this kind of situation even though he was completely fit and fine before that, having zero symptoms of any problem.
