Same Birth Chart, Different Life: The Power of Divisional Charts

Today, in this article, we are going to talk about the importance of the divisional chart. Many a time, whenever we start learning astrology, what happens is that we start with the D1 chart, the divisional chart also known as the Rāśi chart. Almost every new beginner starts with this chart only. But as we move ahead, we somehow have to stumble upon and understand the divisional charts.

Just like the Lagna chart shows an overview of your life, it does not indicate the major themes of life. For example, you cannot predict marriage properly without looking at the Navāṁśa chart. You cannot predict a change in location without the use of the D4 divisional chart. You cannot even predict career properly without using the D10 chart. So, the inclusion of these divisional charts is highly important.

Divisional Charts

Let us start with an example of two persons having identical charts, with exactly the same planets, positions, and even nakshatras. They all have the same nakshatra, and all the padas are also in the same houses. Almost, it is an identical chart, yet they have two completely different lives.

If you look at the left and right charts, both are identical. In both charts, Surya is in Mrityu Bhaga, which means education should go through trouble. But that is not the case with chart number 2. Chart number 2 has studied in extremely premium and reputed colleges and had a good education in the past, whereas chart number 1 is of someone who dropped out. Why? Because Surya is giving the result of Mrityu Bhaga. How can we determine this?

At the same time, chart number 1 shows a person who is a businessman, working in business, construction, transport, and is also indulged in many other businesses. But chart number 2 is a simple chart of a software developer; he is an IT professional.

Chart 1 and chart 2 both have difficult marriages, as we can see, but chart 1 is somehow managing the marriage with patience, whereas chart 2 is divorced and remarried.

Both are living abroad, but they moved to foreign lands in different dashas. By the way, both were running the same mahadasha at the same time, but the results of life varied in both cases. Chart 1 visited abroad in Jupiter–Jupiter dasha, whereas chart 2 visited abroad in Jupiter–Mercury dasha.

How did this major path change happen? At the same time, chart number 1 does not want to have a child, but in chart number 2, the person has a child, though after a lot of difficulty and failures in conceiving. So, you see, both charts are delivering the result of the Mrityu Bhaga of the 5th house, but in different ways.

The answer lies in the divisional chart.

Divisional Charts

As you can see, both have different Navāṁśa rising, but the planets are in the same signs; it is just that the Navāṁśa rising is different.

Here, in the D9 chart, one has a weak 9th lord, so the education has not been completed and the person dropped out. Also, the 10th lord going into the 12th house indicates doing something independently, so the person is into business.

Whereas in chart number 2, the 10th lord is making an exchange with Mars, indicating a technical job—a job because of the sign Virgo and the lord being in the 8th house.

In chart number 1, the 5th lord is retrograde, so the person is uncertain about having a child, mainly because of marriage issues.

Whereas chart number 2 had a miscarriage because of a weak 5th house.

In chart number 1, the D9 lagna is in Virgo, showing issues in marriage; the same is seen in chart number 2. However, in chart number 2, the lagna is in the 8th house, so the first marriage did not survive. In chart number 1, the person is somehow managing the marriage till now because of the 9th lord.

This indicates why changes in divisional charts give different results—even if you are born on the same day with the same Rāśi chart, the life theme will be different.

Hope you understand the conclusion now, and pay attention to divisional charts now, if you want you learn about divisional chart, you can always refer to YOGINI Dasha course, there you will get an understanding of D9, D3 and D10 chart.

  1. Thanks, sir, for this wonderful article, I have always asked myself this question.
But sir then next question comes to my mind is why we use Rashi tulya amsa then and we all know it works very well. Please ellborate on this.

And sir could you share from where can I learn about divisional charts, currently I am using your predictions, ychannel, sir course and books but still so much is left to cover like d12 one of sir from your group uses for predicting lineage issues kul devi. I want to know why we use specific div chart and can we use different one and still reach prediction and is we can use independent div chart then why everyone writes in books that we can’t

  2. Amazing article and incredible insight. I am giving a honest feedback it’s very difficult to learn this thing through blog because beginners also read sometimes. I hope Mr.Deepanshu Giri sir and his team is going to give a lecture regarding this thing because in this blog so many things are there for example-exchanges,5th lord retrograde etc. There are few people read this blog but content is best. Thanks 🙏
