What is the Moon in Vedic Astrology:

One of the significations of the Moon is the mind. It is said in our astrology classics ‘Chandrama Mansaso Jathaha’. When the moon in the natal chart is in strength and unafflicted, the native enjoys a clear state of mind and will be able to face any challenges of life.

Good Placement of Moon in Astrology: 

Moon is said to attain strength if, 

1. Placed in Kendra/Kona 
2. in own house 
3. In exaltation.
4. in own nakshatra 
5. If associated with natural benefics. 

Bad Placement of Moon in Astrology:

Moon is considered weak or afflicted if placed in 

1. 6,8,12 houses 
2. debilitated 
3. associated with natural malefic.

Moon is a sensitive planet called as ‘samagama’ graha- absorbs the quality of the planet with which it is conjunct. Here I am discussing the effect of the conjunction of the moon with other planets in brief.

Conjunctions of Different Planets with the Moon:

Moon – Jupiter Conjunction:-

Moon+Jupiter- gives rise to ‘Gaja Kesari yoga’ -this is the best combination for the moon as it is with the most auspicious planet. Natives will have balanced minds and will be able to make the best decisions even in adverse times.

Moon – Venus Conjunctions:-

Moon+Venus- this gives the native a creative and poetic mind, good for artists, but since both are jala tattva grahas, the native may be very sensitive in relationships.

Moon – Mercury Conjunctions:-

Moon+Mercury- this combination gives quick learning capacity to native, but sometimes can give fickle-mindedness.
