An allergy results from a particular substance (the allergen) aggravating a specific dosha: vata, pitta, or kapha. Allergic rhinitis is described in ayurvedic texts as vataj kafaj pratishyaya roga, mainly an imbalance in kapha and vata (water and air elements).
Causes:-
As per Ayurveda,Allergic Rhinitis is compared with VAATA _ KAFAJ PRATISHYAYA.
Aam,Asatmaya and Virudha aahaar predicts the Allergic Rhinitis
Aam is the product of Impaired or bad digestion and metabolism.It affects the Rasa n Rakht Dhaatu leading to manifestation of Pratishyaya.
Wrong food combination ( Virudh Ahaar ) having antagonist properties like fish with milk,fruit juices with milk,ghee with honey, ice creams after night meals etc, leads to allergy.
